Statement

The Specimen series uses off-cuttings of clothes that would

have otherwise been discarded from local tailor shops. The

bilateral symmetry recalls animal hides, mounted butterflies

and our own clothes as representations of the body in fabric

form. The Rorschach-like shapes introduce a spiritual or psychological

element to the works relating the body and mind to the spirit.
