Biography
Jessica Wohl received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2001 with concentrations in painting, illustration and art history. During her college years, she spent a semester studying painting, printmaking and Renaissance art history in Florence, Italy. In 2001, she interned at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City where she worked with visiting artists and the permanent collection. She has also attended workshops with artists Mark and John English, Brent Watkinson, Gary Kelley, Bart Forbes, and Milt Kobayashi. Her work has been shown in national forums including the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles and CMYK magazine, as well as galleries across the U.S., Italy and Korea.
Teaching art is also a large part of Jessica’s life, as she ran the art department at Herzl Camp for 4 years, and teaches at The Swangstu-Ferguson Art Studios, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kansas City Art Institute. Jessica currently resides in Kansas City, MO where she continues to paint and teach.
